Q: Is it true that inmates use their own piss and feces as projectiles against the officers? I've heard some horror stories about prison being the equivalent of a German porn film.
A: Yes, we call it 'sliming'. It is possibly one of the worst things I have ever seen or smelt. What an inmate will do is take a shit and put some of it into a cup or container. Then he'll add some piss, snot, jizz, blood and anything else he can think of. Once he has a nasty concoction of body fluids together, he'll mix it together until it's the consistency of pudding. When his target, usually an officer, walks by he'll throw it on him. It is considered assault since most of these guys have blood borne diseases like HIV and Hepatitis.
I once watched an inmate dump a 5-gallon bucket half filled with 'slime' over the railing of the second tier onto an officer on the first tier. The inmate called out to the officer right as he dumped it so the officer was hit directly in the face. He was totally covered in brown. The officer turned away and before he could even make it out of the section he was throwing up. I had him run out into the yard so I could hose him off. Meanwhile, the inmate was dragged off to the maximum security unit to be placed in punitive isolation.
We found out the inmate was mad at the officer for taking away an extra pillow he had acquired and that he had been 'saving up' slime for two or three days before that incident. It was rumored that other inmates had donated as well.
To top it off the inmate had hepatitis so the officer had to worry for a few months before he could find out if he was infected or not. Luckily, he wasn't.
